A Goalie with a Purpose

11-year-old Dante Sousa, a goalie for the Worcester Jr. Railers, is using his skills to fight cancer through the fundraiser October Saves. Inspired by his late aunt, Maria Catino, Dante has already raised $2,500 in pledges this year.

Turning Grief into Action

“She was like the world to me,” says Dante about his aunt, who passed away last year. In her memory, he is dedicated to making every save count towards cancer research.

Inspiring a Team Effort

Dante’s efforts have inspired 16 other goalies from his team to join the cause. His mother, Tiffany Sousa, notes that the initiative helps Dante cope with his loss by channeling his energy into something positive.

Support Dante and the Worcester Jr. Railers by donating to October Saves today. Every save helps in the fight against cancer.
