October Saves is gearing up for the most thrilling Goalie Challenge yet. We’re excited to announce a series of kick-off events that will set the stage for a month of stopping pucks, life-saving fundraising and community spirit.
For our DMV hockey fans, mark your calendars for September 27, 7-9pm. We’re planning a Goaltending Clinic Kick-Off at The St. James, featuring the Inova Mobile Clinic bus. This event will offer a unique blend of skill-building and health awareness.
Join us for “October Saves Night” with the Maryland Black Bears on October 5th at 7:30 pm at the Piney Orchard Ice Arena. The Black Bears, a junior team in the North American Hockey League (NAHL), will face off against the Philadelphia Rebels in a game that promises both excitement and purpose.
All Black Bears goalies will be participating in the October Saves challenge, with a portion of ticket sales contributing to their fundraising efforts. Fans will want to keep their eyes on the ice during intermission for a possible all-goalie scrimmage that’s sure to bring laughs and showcase the spirit of our goalkeeping community.
These kick-off events are more than just the start of our challenge – they’re a celebration of the goalie community and our collective power to make a difference in the fight against cancer. Whether you’re a goalie, a fan or a supporter, we invite you to join us as we launch the 2024 October Saves Goalie Challenge.
Tell us about your October Saves event and we will add it to the calendar. Stay tuned for more details and get ready to turn saves into hope this October!
