Layton Covol

My name is Layton, and 2025 was my seventh year participating in the October Saves Goalie Challenge.

This is a very important time of year for me. It’s a time when I feel I can give back and help those who have helped my family. My mom was diagnosed with a brain tumor before I was born, so I came into this world fighting for survivors, those currently battling this disease and those we have lost.

Every October, I tape my stick pink and write the names of as many people as I can on it. I play for each of them and their families. Every time I step onto the ice, I do it for them. Every save I make, I make for them.

I know what this feels like, and I will continue to fight, support and give back in every way I can until there is a cure.
