Why I participate ?

This is it, year four of my October Saves campaign. October saves is a fundraising event for goalies among the United States and Canada, where we raise funds that go 100% to women’s and pediatric cancer research. To date, goalies have raised $1.5 million and as of October 2nd and just two days of fundraising, $116,000 has been raised. Cancer awareness has played a huge part in my life, with my mom, grandparents and friends all giving me the opportunity to come here this month and do my part to give back through the struggles they endured. To help with research so no other families have to go through the pain and suffering many others had to. October saves was my way to give back, combining the two of the most important things in my life, hockey and cancer awareness. This year I am dedicating a each game to someone that had to go through any type of cancer throughout their lives. Join me and many many other goalies this year in this fundraising event as it plays such a huge role in my and many other lives. A pledge per save can be made (a dollar amount per save I make in a game, for all games this month), or a flat rate donation. Anything would be greatly appreciated, be a part of this movement.
