Why I participate ?

Family and Friends, I am once again participating in the October Saves Goalie Challenge during the month of October. We are raising money for some really important organizations that help families affected by cancer like mine was. I am participating in honor of my brother, Jaimin, who is a pediatric cancer survivor, and in memory of my grandmothers, both of whom died from cancer. One of the hospitals to benefit is the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, which is not only a great research hospital, but also one of the hospitals where his brother was treated. Other benefiting organizations include INOVA Hospital, a great hospital local to us, a lung cancer organization, and also organizations who help families financially while a loved one is undergoing treatment. It is really great that I get to make a difference doing the thing I love most: stopping pucks. My hockey teams and I are working hard to raise both awareness and money, as well as show solidarity with families like ours and anyone who has been affected by cancer. You can sponsor me with a flat donation or by each save that I make while in goal. I think that nearly all us have been impacted by cancer in some way or another and I thank you for making a difference with me. Jonah Boles
